St. Johann

St. Johann is a small, picturesque town nestling between the towering Kitzbüheler Horn and the majestic Wilder Kaiser mountains. There’s a vibrant international feel here, yet the resort retains all the charm of a traditional Tyrolean village with its 'picture postcard' centre. With many north-facing slopes, the resort boasts a good snow record and is an excellent choice for groups of mixed ability skiers. The area pass ("Schneewinkel") opens up a wealth of other possibilities, encompassing the ski areas of 10 resorts, all linked by local bus services. The Steinplatte area even allows you to ski/board into Germany!

Beginners Star

First time skiers will benefit from a vast range of wide-open, well-maintained nursery areas and long blue runs. The excellent ski school will ease you through the first few days and have you tackling those slopes in no time.

Intermediates Star

St. Johann offers many red and blue runs varying from open pistes to wide wooded glades. However the Schneewinkl area pass also covers several nearby areas including the Steinplatte, Fieberbrunn and St. Jakob, unfurling a wealth of runs and plenty of scope for the intermediate, plus an excellent snow record.

Advanced Star

Try the infamous “Penzing” run - a particularly lengthy black beginning with a challenging mogul field and continuing all the way to Penzing. Powderhounds will enjoy the varied off-piste diversions offered by the “Schneewinkel” area pass, with excellent snow records and often plenty of powder opportunities, particularly on the Steinplatte and Fieberbrunn areas.

Snowboarding Star

St Johann is a friendly resort with good terrain for all levels. There is a snowboard park for riders who fancy testing their skills on the kickers and beginners are well catered for with good nursery slopes. The Steinplatte also offers some great free-riding.
