Honeymoon packages in Mexico
Honeymoon locations in Mexico range from hideaway sites on the beautiful island of Cozumel, to large all-inclusive resorts at vibrant Puerto Vallarta. Honeymoon packages here are all about variety, both in choice of resorts and the activities and facilities available. We at The Co-operative Travel have Mexican honeymoon locations to suit every couple. You can even have a beach wedding here.
A beach honeymoon allows you the luxury of peaceful, isolated beaches, fresh sea breezes and cooling watersport activities, so the majority of honeymoon packages are booked at resorts along the coast. Mexico has a Caribbean climate, but can be very hot inland – although the colonial towns and haciendas make romantic, interesting excursions.
The VIP treatment
Booking a honeymoon package is more than just a nice room and bottle of fizzy on arrival. Newlyweds are treated like the VIPs they are, and even have a whole menu of activities not available to regular guests. Sailing and watersports are fun to do together, and lessons are available. If you can’t scuba dive already, try and have a few lessons before you go. This way you can dive in and explore the reefs straight away.
Other activities include cultural visits and shopping excursions, or why not take a romantic horse-ride along the beach? Western saddles are easily mastered, and very comfortable.
Tips on booking your honeymoon package
The Mexican climate can be pretty extreme. The hottest season is between August and October. The most pleasant time is the high season of November and May, when it’s pleasantly warm and dry. Be aware though, that the sun can still be fierce. High factor sun-block, polarised sunglasses and a t-shirt over your shoulders are essentials. You don’t want sunburn to spoil your romantic time together.

Best honeymoon destinations in Mexico
The scenic island of Cozumel is popular for summer honeymoons, with fresh sea breezes and romantic isolated beaches. Choose a private villa, or opt for an all-inclusive honeymoon package, where you can swap notes with other honeymoon couples. It’s a great way to meet new, non-single friends!
Cancun is a big, vibrant resort that mixes nightlife with white sandy beaches where you can do as much or as little as you like. Both this, and more intimate Puerto Vallerta can get busy with American tourists, although honeymoon packages in the wet season are quieter. We at the Co-operative Travel can recommend resorts in Mexico for a honeymoon destination to remember.
