Bangkok has some of the finest hotels in the world, with a level of luxury that’s second to none. Accommodation ranges from 5-star pampering in modern hotels, to traditional rattan villas in luxury eco-resorts. The best honeymoon locations are those away from the busy city centre. However much the nightclubs and malls appeal, they soon begin to pall once the adrenaline rush has evaporated. Bangkok can be a noisy and confusing place at the best of times.
Honeymoon hotels lay on a great range of excursions, and there are excellent transport links in and out of the city centre. This gives you the option of wandering arm-in-arm along the tropical beaches of Koh Pha Ngan; trying your hand at scuba diving; visiting the temples and palaces of exquisite Rattanakosin Island, or letting your hair down at the city nightclubs.
You need to think carefully about the time of year you’ll be travelling, as this will affect your choice of honeymoon destination. Bangkok has a tropical climate that is hot and humid through most of the year, and during the rainy season of May to October, you will find the offshore islands more pleasant than the town.
The warm, dry months between November and April are the most pleasant, although it can get hot from March onwards. We at The Co-operative Travel recommend Bangkok as a wonderful honeymoon destination, whatever the time of year.
