The Spanish Costas
From the far north of the Costa Brava, to the Costa del Sol on the southern tip of Spain, the Spanish Costas have been a magnet for british holidaymakers.
Costa Brava holidays are decidedly fun in the sun. Starting just north of Barcelona this picturesque region extends up the eastern Spanish coast to the French border. Alternating between rugged cliffs, secluded bays and extensive beaches the Costa Brava is a favoured summer destination for sun seekers.
The Costa Dorada incorporates 130 miles of glorious South Catalonian Mediterranean coast. Stretching from the city of Barcelona in the north to the town of L’Ametila de Mar in the south it features the lively and hugely popular resort of Salou. Cheap holidays to Salou and the Costa Dorada destinations a little less raucous are readily available for most of the year, although this region is a firm summer favourite.
The Costa Blanca gets its name from the fine white sands that form the hundreds of miles of gorgeous beaches along this part of the Spanish Mediterranean coast. At its heart is the city of Alicante, to which most people booked on Costa Blanca holidays will fly, taking just over two hours from the UK.
Costa Almeria holiday deals are some of the most sought after to Spain as they offer incredible variety and value. Well-developed tourist resorts, idyllic unspoilt fishing villages and hidden coves are spread out along the entire 200 miles length of this glorious coastal region of Andalucía in Southern Spain.
For British tourists, holidays to the Costa del Sol offer accustomed favourites; hotels, bars and clubs all catering perfectly to Anglo-Saxon tastes. Combine that familiarity with glorious Spanish sunshine and the warm waters of the Mediterranean and for many you have the perfect holiday recipe!
