Salou is brazen and brash with the focus most firmly placed on fun in the sun! Approximately 70 miles southwest of Barcelona in the catalonian region of spain, Salou is a great resort for enjoying a beach holiday whilst offering some fabulous attractions to visit nearby.  The main white sandy beach is long and wide, shelving gently into the sea providing ideal conditions for young children.

Using Salou as a base the inner Costa Dorada is easy to reach and offers some truly amazing sights. Medieval monasteries and historic towns such as Reus, Montblanc and Tortosa combined with stunning mountainous scenery give plenty of reasons to venture inland.

As well as a wide selection of watersports there are plenty of other sports and leisure activities including golf, Para sailing, tennis, squash, hiking, cycling and horse riding to enjoy whilst on holiday in Salou.

More modern attractions in the region include the knockout new Universal Studios theme park at Port Aventura. This attraction has received rave reviews since opening and is a definite must for families with young kids. Only a stone’s throw from the centre of Salou it would be shame to miss it!
