Vilamoura Holidays

GENERAL

Portugal's Golden Coast

Find the latest offers on Vilamoura holidays with The Co-operative Travel. With its massive 1,000-berth marina at its heart, Vilamoura is a great place to experience a luxury Algarve holiday. Around the marina are clusters of exclusive designer shops as well as a variety of bars. These are best enjoyed during the day when they are quieter, although at night the bustle never gets too overwhelming.

Think of the Algarve these days, and in terms of daytime activities, golf comes pretty high up the list. Many of the expensively designed and built new course have their own luxury hotels, villas and apartments. You'll need a handicap certificate to play any of the six major new courses.

But even if golf doesn't feature on your holiday agenda, there are boat trips and walking and cycling trails to enjoy, and then, after sunset, those restaurants and bars come into their own.

Beach lovers, though, don't miss out, with the two main ones, Praia da Marina and Praia da Falesia, spread out on either side of the marina, each offering a coastline stroll to the respective villages lying at the far end.

More typical Algarvean villages are also waiting to be discovered, prominent among them Loule, particularly when the Saturday gypsy market is in full swing, and Alte, with its narrow, cobbled streets and whitewashed houses scattered along the hillside.

You'll certainly find you could want on a Vilamoura package holiday or all-inclusive holiday without venturing any further afield. But with the rest of the Algarve so close to hand, it also makes a good base for exploring further afield.

If Vilamoura sounds like the ideal base for your holiday to the Algarve, then find out about prices and availability today, and then book your Vilamoura holiday with The Co-operative Travel!
