Faro Holidays

GENERAL

There are many reasons for choosing a Faro holiday from The Co-operative Travel - which one of them is yours?

The provincial capital of the Algarve, some visitors are attracted to Faro by the incredible sightseeing opportunities, others by the soft golden sands that slope into the clear blue waters, or the buzzing nightlife.

After touching down at Faro airport, you're a short (six-mile) hop from the city itself, whose traditional vibe is perfectly suited to family holidays...

Shopping, taking a romantic stroll through the streets, and the thriving nightlife can all be enjoyed, while Faro also makes a great base for exploring the spectacular Algarve coastline. The city's own beach is a match for many others on the island for its cleanliness and crystal blue waters, but there are many others within easy reach.

Shopping and Eating out in Faro

Faro's quaint old town is a worthwhile diversion, while for shopping you should head towards the Rua Santo Antonio and the Rua Francisco Gomes. There are many popular stalls and bargain buys include clothing, wines, embroidered goods and basketware. The best local market is to be found in Largo do Mercado, which is very popular with residents and tourists alike.

By night Faro comes alive along Rua do Prior and in the alleys off Rua Conselheiro Bivar and Rua Infante Dom Henrique. There are predominantly local haunts to explore, such as The Upa Upa Café and Bar, the all-out Dux nightclub, or the Fashion Kaffe where the more laid-back and trendy hang out.

Options for eating out are equally plentiful, and as with any resort in this coastal region, seafood is the number one choice.

So if Faro is your package holiday or all-inclusive holiday choice, your first step is much nearer - see the latest deals and offers available at The Co-operative Travel!
