ocho rios holidays - jamaica
a truly relaxing experience
Find everything to make your perfect Jamaica holiday by booking into Ocho Rios with The Co-operative Travel.
From its beginnings as a simple, basic stopping-off point for cruise ships, Ocho Rios has evolved into a fully-fledged resort in its own right, now recognised as the second most important on the island.
The greatly-improved north coast highway has opened up the town from Montego Bay airport, and the drive between the two now takes well under two hours.
One the most spectacular sights – and experiences – on an Ocho Rios holiday is the Dunn’s River Falls, descending roughly 695 feet into the sea, which the more daredevil visitor’s can’t resist climbing – so you’ll need a head for heights.
A more sedate attraction is Coyoba River Garden, where lush gardens with ponds and waterfalls await you for a truly relaxing experience. A museum here also houses many relics and artefacts discovered around the island.

shopping and eating out in ochos rios
Ocho Rios town itself has a large open-air market excellent for hunting down local crafts for souvenirs. But remember to leave all but your most essential belongings behind, then be prepared to be bold and haggle, and resist the temptation to take more money than you can really afford to spend!
If you do choose to eat out, you’ll find several restaurants or less formal establishments serving authentic Jamaican cuisine, one of the most highly recommended being the Ocho Rios Jerk Centre, which does exactly what it says on the packaging, and offers the Caribbean staple of barbecued jerk chicken, fish or ribs with rice and peas.
Despite the highly packaged nature of many Jamaican holidays, you can still dig deeper and discover a little of its authentic charm, and one of the best ways to do so is on an Ocho Rios package holiday, or all-inclusive holiday with The Co-operative Travel.
Check for availability now, and see whether you can find Ocho Rios holiday deals and offers which could save you even more money on our already keen prices!
