One of the little gems with which Crete is particularly well endowed, Gouves is just a short hop from the island's main airport, and at The Co-operative Travel, we offer you plenty of ways to discover it.
Gouves opens up the possibility of exploring Crete's northern shores, and this favourable location has seen it develop a good variety of hotels and family-orientated self-catering accommodation. The resort has developed relatively recently, so facilities are well planned and offer something to suit everyone.
The town centre is a livery but calm place, so if it's a full-on nightlife you're after, you'd be better taking one of the regular buses into the island's capital, Heraklion. For the mobile traveler, Gouves' excellent transport routes make reaching the popular Hersonissos and Malia resorts relatively simple.
There is, however, a good little selection of shops, along with quieter bars and restaurants which offer friendly service and a chance to sample the local fare. Of particular interest to a number of visitors is the Ilythia cave and other picturesque areas that encompass Gouves, including Amnissos, Kokkini Hani and a number of smaller villages on the periphery.
The beach in Gouves is sandy and clean, with the added bonus of the warm summer sun often being tempered by a gentle northerly breeze. There are several beach bars and cafes to hand, while locally-caught fish is a speciality in many of the nearby restaurants.
You'll find plenty of activities on a Gouves family holiday or all inclusive holiday from The Co-operative Travel, so be sure to check out our latest deals and offers, and availability for your preferred dates.
