Cheap holidays to Fuerteventura
Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands and ideal for those wanting cheap family holidays with plenty to do. Just 100 km from the African coast, this low-key volcanic island offers year-round sunshine, superb beaches and unparalleled water sports facilities. We at The Co-operative Travel have low-cost package holidays in Fuerteventura all year round.
All inclusive holidays for families
With 150 beaches to choose from, it’s not difficult to find your own secluded spot even at the height of summer. The island is the wind surfing capital of the world, hosting the World Windsurfing Championships each year. However, there are plenty of sheltered beaches where young folk can build sand castles in safety.
Corralejo, Fuerteventura’s busiest resort, is a bustling harbour town on the north coast. Packed with bars, restaurants, shops and discos it’s great for young adults. Families tend to book all inclusive holidays outside the town centre, where there are secluded dunes to play in, and a nature reserve. They can still enjoy the boat trips, water parks and children’s activities in the main town – and enjoy a night’s sleep after.
Family friendly Caleta de Fuste
Caleta de Fuste is the island’s most popular family resort, offering a quieter, more restful experience than Corralejo. Here, holidays are centred on a broad horseshoe bay, with 20 km of clean white sand, fascinating rock pools and a variety of watersports.
People booking all inclusive holidays here can enjoy wind surfing, jet-skis and boat trips to neighbouring islands. There’s also golf, mountain biking and hiking – a great way to see the unspoilt interior. Nightlife is varied but low-key, and the town has an extensive range of shops and restaurants. Many of the hotels specialise in package holidays for children, with kids clubs and other activities.

Cheap holidays in Costa Calma
Costa Calma, on the south coast, is a quiet, purpose-built resort set in the stunning landscape of the Jandia Peninsula, a protected nature reserve. The strong off-shore winds make it a magnet for windsurfers, but the secluded beaches and stunning wildlife of the Playa Jandia make it popular with families too.
Playa Barca is another popular resort. Hotels here offer cheap family holidays on a sheltered, 30 km sweep of coastline, backed by a spectacular and unspoilt landscape. Close to Playa Jandia and Costa Calma, it has a varied but low-key nightlife, varied water sports and camel trips into the interior – much more exciting than a donkey ride!
We at The Co-operative Travel have cheap holidays to all these resorts. We can recommend Fuerteventura to anyone wanting all inclusive holidays in the Canaries.
