The beaches of San Juan and El Postiguet offer fine sands, safe swimming and plenty of sports, from wind surfing to golf and volleyball. El Postiguet lies under the shadow of Santa Barbara, and is ideally placed for exploring the Old Quarter of the city. Alicante also has some superb parks. At the Parque El Palmeral there are play areas, picturesque walks, boat hire and a summer theatre. 

Calpe – and beyond

Calpe, close to vibrant Benidorm, is famous for its rock formations and glorious sandy beaches. A favourite for both families and couples booking package holidays, it has a variety of water sports as well as safe places for children to play. Numerous rocky inlets mean you can easily find your own secluded beach to laze about on.
