The island of Tenerife is the biggest of the Canary Islands and the one most favoured by young sun seekers. Lively resorts such as Playa De Las Americas and Los Cristianos at the southern tip of the island draw youngsters in their tens of thousands each year. A couple of great hotels for a family holiday here include H10's Conquistador or the Iberostar Torviscas. If your looking for a more lively hotel for singles or young couples have a look at Laguna park 2 on the Playa De Las Americas and Costa Adeje boarder. But as many Tenerife resorts are quite cosmopolitan catering to mainstream tastes that also attracts families and couples to the island so the youngsters don’t have it all their own way!

Gran Canaria is most definitely an island of two distinct halves clearly determined by climate; the mountainous north is cool and wet whereas the southern tip of the island is warm and dry. Fantastic Saharan sands cover the beaches making Gran Canaria one of the favoured Canary Islands holiday destinations.

Lanzarote is much drier than Gran Canaria and offers the most evidence of its volcanic origin. Bare, black exposed rocks make it look like it is not of this earth but rather belongs to the moon. Fuerteventura is the least developed of the Canary Islands yet offers some of the best beaches in the whole archipelago. Its exposed location in the Atlantic mixed with huge expanses of sandy beaches ensures that the island is a nirvana for windsurfers and hosts the world windsurfing championships annually. Accomodation varies on this island, there are several apartments on offer such as the Club las Olas in Corralejo or the Caleta Garden in Caleta de Fuste.
