Cha Am Holidays

A favourite among the Thai people

One of Thailand's longest-established resorts, Cha Am is still a favourite among the Thai people, but its proximity to Bangkok has also brought a surge of interest from foreign visitors.

The main attraction for all of them is the stunning, peaceful setting, with most of the hotels looking out directly onto the long sweep of sandy beach and calm sea which make the resort ideal for families and watersports enthusiasts alike.

Cha Am offers a good selection of hotel types with standards ranging from budget accommodation to luxury resort complexes offering package holidays and all inclusive holidays. A number of beachfront bungalows are also available which can offer great value and make a great base for a cheap Cha Am Holiday.

Cha Am's beach overlooks the Gulf of Thailand. The resort still shows a few signs of its origins as a fishing village, especially in its traditional architecture.

More modern holiday diversions have also found their way to Cha Am, and the resort boasts restaurants serving all types of international cuisine, lively bars and plenty of evening entertainment. A Cha Am holiday also draws in keen golfers, who have several well-maintained courses dotted around the area from which to choose.

Experience the natural landscape of Cha Am

Cha Am affords easy access to many of the unspoiled delights of southern Thailand. Along the Western Gulf coastline, particularly heading south towards Prachuap Khiri Khan province, there are many sheltered coves along with traditional fishing villages whose characteristics can still be traced in Cha Am itself.

The 40 square miles of Khao Sam Roi Yot National Park boasts a mountainous landscape, lush vegetation, waterfalls, caves and mangroves running down to beautiful beaches.

North Cha Am offers restaurants of all sorts and is very crowded at weekends with locals as well as tourists. The huge, long beach at North Cha Am gives you plenty of space to escape and enjoy a relaxed, quiet walk, day or night.

This beach is also a watersports hotspot, offering jet skiing or the chance to row a banana boat if you're up to it! It's a popular spot for Thai families too, ensuring that the atmosphere is fun and vibrant.

The beach in South Cha Am is generally much quieter than the northern end, with a sloping beach and a rockier shoreline. Cha Am viewpoint offers a romantic vista of the sun setting over the sparkling sea, and is also the venue for Cha Am's many festivals.
