Gambia Holidays

GENERAL

Wildlife and Wilderness

This West African destination will awaken the senses and show you the unimaginable. Gambia is an English-speaking, former British colony with an amazing 30 miles of beaches, dense jungle and fantastic wildlife. Perfect for winter sun holidays you can escape the gloomy British weather and immerse yourself in the colourful delights of Africa.

If it's wildlife you are after, why not visit the Kachikaly Crocodile Pool, for an experience of a lifetime. You can also visit the Abuko Nature reserve which boasts more than 270 species of birds. If shopping is more your thing- Banjul, the capital of Gambia has colourful markets which provide a taste of authentic African life for those hunting out a bargain!

A holiday in Gambia is the perfect place to escape for sun, sea, sand and adventure. There is so much to do, which we know you'll find especially exciting if it's your first trip to Africa.

Kololi

This well established beach resort has a main strip of bars, casinos and nightclubs, which is frequented by both locals and tourists. Kololi has a great selection of hotels and some of Gambia's best restaurants, with a large number of places to eat serving a variety of cuisine styles to suit all tastes.

The beach is a wide expanse of golden sand and you can walk along it ending up in either up Bijilo or along to Kotu. Perfect for those looking for a bit of nightlife with their beach stay!

Kotu

Kotu has really developed over the past couple of years with a number of new bars and restaurants being built. Kombo Beach dominates the beach front.

You can also head to Bakotu and the popular Bungalow Beach. The area has a vibrant, lively craft market where you can find batiks and wood carvings. Past the Bungalow Beach hotel there are also now a couple of beach bars and a golf course is also nearby.

Cape Point

Generally a quieter area than Kololi, Cape Point has a selection of craft stalls, and a small minimarket, but its highlight by far has to be the stunning beach... a wide sweep of golden sand that seems to stretches on forever. Perfect for couples or families seeking a peaceful beach holiday in Gambia.
