Winter sports cover vital for ski holidays

Many Brits will be taking part in winter sports over the coming weeks as they enjoy ski holidays in popular destinations including France and Austria, which cater for thousands annually.

Those heading to the slopes are being advised not to forget to take out adequate travel insurance to protect against any eventuality, with particular attention being paid to exclusions and inclusions.

Resent research from Sainsbury's Finance revealed that the average cost of a claim on winter sport insurance has increased by 47.6 per cent over the past two years.

Commenting on the news, Asia Yasir, spokeswoman for esure travel, said having quality insurance is vital and people should always look at the small print to see their level of protection.

"It doesn't matter whether you're a novice or perfectly at home on the black runs, accidents do happen on the slopes and it's crucial to make sure you're fully covered with quality insurance that includes specific winter sports cover," she recommended.
