Head to Geneva 'for a great last-minute ski break'

Brits hoping to book a late season ski holiday may wish to consider taking a break in Switzerland.

According to flight search site Skyscanner, Geneva is an ideal place to travel to, as there are more than 100 resorts within a two-hour drive of the airport.

"One of the closest is Lelex, a small resort served by 13 ski lifts, ideal for beginners. At the other end of the scale there's Morzine, part of Les Portes Du Soleil," the company stated.

Forming part of a linked ski area, the Portes Du Soleil is home to more than 650 pistes, with something to suit people of all abilities.

Holidaymakers were warned earlier this week that insurance is a must for ski breaks.

Research carried out by HolidayExtras.com found that four in ten people have sustained an injury while skiing or snowboarding, with the average winter sports insurance claim coming in at £800.
