Comprehensive travel insurance 'very important'
Before heading off on
holiday, making sure that you have the correct level of travel insurance in place could be very important, it has been stated.
Holidaymakers who are heading abroad this year have been advised by AITO spokesperson Ian Bradley that many countries frequently update their travel advice, so it may be useful to keep an eye on new developments.
He added that the organisation, which represents British tour operators, also advises taking out cover against any activities that you think you may be involved with on your trip that are not protected by standard policies.
Such activities could include winter sports like skiing and snowboarding, or heading out on a boat or jet ski when on the beach.
Mr Bradley concluded that a good travel agent will be able to assist you with what the best policy would be for your individual circumstances.
His comments follow the news that 35.6 million Brits are planning to take their
holiday overseas this year, according to Lloyds TSB Added Value Accounts.
