Bulgaria 'offers great value skiing holidays'
Britons hoping to take a cheap skiing
holiday this winter have been advised to head to eastern Europe.
Research carried out by InsureandGo revealed that skiers and snowboarders can expect to save around 40 per cent by travelling to Bulgaria instead of a typical French resort.
The study took into account the cost of
flights, accommodation and lift passes for seven nights.
According to InsureandGo, holidaymakers taking a break in Bulgaria can expect to pay around £819 on the "major elements" of a winter break, compared to £1,366 in France and £1,162 in Austria.
Commenting on the findings, the company's founder Perry Wilson said: "Despite signs of economic recovery people are still feeling the pinch, so we predict that many skiers and snowboarders will be taking advantage of the significant savings they can make by going to a country like Bulgaria."
In related news, a recent study by the Post Office revealed that Romania is also a good value destination for those taking skiing
holidays.
