Top holiday destinations for 2010 revealed
Holidays to Turkey, Egypt and South Africa are likely to prove popular in 2010, it has been claimed.
According to Abta - The Travel Association, there may also be an increase in the number of people booking long-haul
flights to destinations such as the Caribbean before Air Passenger Duty is increased.
The Abta Travel Trends report also suggested that Brits will be flocking to places that have been made famous by books and films, such as the Washington town of Forks, which features in the popular Twilight Saga.
There is also likely to be a rise in the number of travellers taking volunteering breaks and raising money for charity, the organisation noted.
Abta spokesperson Frances Tuke commented: "This year has been remarkably resilient for the travel industry and prospects are looking good for 2010, with the trend to more adventurous destinations continuing."
Travel providers Thomson and First Choice claimed earlier this month that demand for all-inclusive holidays is set to rise next year.
