Families bond 'while taking package holidays'

Taking a family holiday each year could be essential to helping them to get to know each other, one expert has suggested.

In the opinion of Lucy Ace, managing director of Takethefamily.co.uk, having a package holiday to Turkey helps people of all ages to take a trip away from their daily routines and have quality time together.

She suggests that a trip to somewhere close to home could be just as valuable as travelling a long distance, as it will still enable the group to break free of their timetables.

There is also an emerging trend for taking several shorter breaks over the course of a year rather than the traditional two weeks in the sun holiday, Ms Ace suggested.

This view ties in with the results of a poll carried out by HolidayExtras.com, which found that many people are considering cutting back on the amount of time and money that they spend on holiday this year, but the family holiday is remaining a priority for 62 per cent of respondents.
