Check out some 'must-see events' on holiday in Turkey

Britons planning cheap holidays to Turkey this year will be able to check out some of the festivals and celebrations that have been identified by leisure airline Jet2.com as "must-see events".

In mid-May, visitors will have the opportunity to see various demonstrations and exhibitions at the Bodrum Diving Festival.

The following month, the Aspendos Opera and Ballet Festival will get underway in Antalya, one of Turkey's most popular holiday destinations.

A series of shows will be performed at a historic 20,000-seat theatre throughout June and July, providing the opportunity for visitors to enjoy some culture during their summer holiday.

Jet2 recommended several other events that will be taking place in popular tourism hotspots this year, such as the International Boat Show in Palma de Mallorca, which will feature a floating exhibition of more than 300 vessels in April and May.

Holidaymakers heading to the Canary Islands in July will be treated to some live music during the Heineken Jazz Festival.
