Cheap holidays to Turkey 'should include Bodrum'

The popular resort of Bodrum on the south-west coast of Turkey has been hailed as the perfect destination for tourists to spend their summer holidays.

Travel writer Gareth Huw Davies explained that Bodrum has a wide range of "splendid summer features", including a beautiful beach, tranquil sea and calm breezes.

Writing in the Daily Mail, Mr Davies pointed out that there is plenty for holidaymakers to do in Bodrum, including swimming in clear blue waters around the resort's ancient coves and sailing further out to sea to fully take in the region's stunning scenery.

Alternatively, those who are more interested in Turkey's rich cultural and historic heritage can opt to explore the many gems around Bodrum.

"There are two original Wonders of the World in Bodrum - the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus and the remains of the Temple of Artemis at the huge Greek and Roman city of Ephesus," he said.

The increasing accessibility of cheap package holidays means that a trip to Bodrum may only be a phone call away.
