Top student holiday destinations revealed

Students hoping to jet off on holiday this summer may be interested to learn that one website had compiled a list of top destinations.

Writing for cheapflights.co.uk, Andrea Mooney noted that holidays to Spain are a great option, particularly the city of Barcelona.

"Take in the sights of Gaudi's La Sagrada Familia and Parc Guell for free (from the outside of course) or saunter through Las Ramblas and let the street performers dazzle you for a few coins," she stated.

Another popular destination for university students is Los Angeles. According to Ms Mooney, Tinsel Town is a versatile place, where visitors can enjoy days at the beach and nights in the city.

Other hotspots include Australia, Chicago, Vancouver and Thailand.

Ian Bradley, a spokesman for the Association of Independent Tour Operators, recently claimed that Spain will be the most popular destination for British holidaymakers in 2010.
