Tenerife 'is most upmarket destination in Canaries'

Those looking to take a luxury holiday this winter may wish to consider a break in Tenerife.

Jayne Nuttall, a consultant at Travel Counsellors, said it is generally the most upmarket of the Canary Islands and the perfect place to relax in luxurious surroundings.

"Tenerife has more four and five-star and deluxe properties than other Canary Islands and has a super year-round climate," she commented.

However, Ms Nuttall noted that although there are plenty of luxury options, there are a wide range of properties on the island, with something to suit all budgets.

She added that the most popular time for Brits to visit Tenerife is between the months of October and March.

An ideal destination for families, Tenerife is home to dozens of attractions.

Some of the most popular places include Siam Park, Loro Parque and Aqualand Costa Adeje.
