Real Madrid stadium tour 'one of the best'

Families taking holidays to Spain this summer will find plenty of great attractions to visit in Madrid.

This is according to Lonely Planet editor Tom Hall, who suggested that it is a great destination for football enthusiasts.

"The Real Madrid museum and stadium tour is one of the best you can do in Europe, it's really worth doing and you'll understand the stature of the club and its heritage and its history as well as seeing some amazing trophies," he commented.

Madrid is also a fantastic city for people who want to sample some Spanish nightlife.
Bars and restaurants open until late and visitors will find some great live music on offer, Mr Hall added.

A study carried out by Carrentals.co.uk earlier this month revealed that 22 per cent of Britons believe Spain is the best place to take a family holiday.

Gareth Robinson, the company's managing director, said the economic downturn has not stopped people from wanting to take breaks abroad.
