New flight route for Brits taking holidays in Spain

UK travellers planning cheap holidays to Spain this summer now have a wider range of flights to choose from, with British Airways introducing a route from London City airport to Malaga on the Costa del Sol.

The airline will offer three weekly services to the popular destination throughout the year.

It has also launched a route linking London City to Faro, the gateway to the Algarve, Portugal's leading summer holiday region, as well as more flights to Nice, Majorca and Ibiza.

The new additions mean that BA now offers a total of 39 weekly leisure services from the UK airport for the summer season.

Luke Hayhoe, commercial manager of the carrier's subsidiary BA CityFlyer, said: "We first launched leisure-only flights from London City last year in direct response to demand from our customers. They proved so popular, particularly during the summer months, that we have decided to expand them further this year.

"The addition of two extra aircraft to the fleet means we can also offer year-round services to the summer and winter sun destinations of Malaga and Faro."

Britons planning package holidays in Spain also have the option of travelling to Alicante to discover the sights and attractions of the Costa Blanca.ADNFCR-2580-ID-800601826-ADNFCR
