Michelle Obama enjoys a holiday in Spain

US first lady Michelle Obama is soaking up the sunshine in Spain this week along with her youngest daughter Sasha and a large group of friends.

Ms Obama flew into Malaga earlier this week for a four-night break in one of the Costa del Sol's most exclusive hotels.

The mother-of-two was pictured in the Daily Mail taking in the sights of Marbella, with a host of bodyguards in tow.

She is reported to be staying at the exclusive five-star Villa Padierna hotel with approximately 40 friends.

The first lady was greeted by a large billboard reading: "Welcome Obama Family: Thank you for choosing Marbella."

A number of American flags were also raised in their honour.

Holidays to Spain are certainly proving popular with the rich and famous at the moment.

British actress Jennifer Metcalfe has been spotted taking a break in the same resort this week.
