Holidays in Spain 'dominate search rankings'
Spain is still the most popular destination for British holidaymakers, it has been revealed.
Figures published by
flight search engine Skyscanner show that Spain was the most searched for
holiday hotspot during Januray.
Some of the most searched for locations include Malaga, Alicante, Tenerife, Palma and Lanzarote.
Skyscanner co-founder and business director Barry Smith said Spain is still "top dog by a long shot".
"But Portugal, Italy and Cyprus have a significant slice of the market and Turkey and Thailand are nipping at its heels," he commented.
Mr Smith added that Orlando is likely to prove popular this year due to the opening of Harry Potter's Wizarding World.
Research published by First Rate Exchange Services revealed that 56 per cent of British adults are hoping to take a
holiday abroad over the coming year.
A further 22 per cent said they are still considering their travel options.
