'Get more for your money' with a holiday to Spain
Brits jetting off on
holidays to Spain this year will get more bang for their buck than in 2009, it has been revealed.
According to foreign exchange provider HiFX, it is more important then ever to consider exchange rates when heading overseas.
"Sterling remains relatively weak against the major currencies means most holidaymakers will find trips abroad feel more expensive than they did a few years ago. However, if you're heading to Hungary, US or countries in the eurozone at the moment, you'll get the best value for your pound relative to last year," said Mark Bodega, the organisation's director.
Holidaymakers are advised to avoid changing money at the airport and beware of debit and credit card charges.
Research published last week by BreadFX Prepaid Euro MasterCard found that 36 per cent of travellers plan to spend more this summer than they did in 2009.
A further 43 per cent said they intend to splash out the same amount.
