'Don't take risks' when booking holidays to Greece
Brits have been urged to take care when booking
holidays to Greece and elsewhere online.
GetSafeOnline.org has joined forces with ABTA - The Travel Association to warn holidaymakers not to be caught out by bogus
holiday scams.
A recent survey carried out by the organisations revealed that 30 per cent of people book travel packages without confirming the authenticity of their
holiday provider.
Furthermore, 22 per cent of people have entered their card details and paid for a
holiday without checking the site was secure.
"When we've been working hard the rest of the year, for most people, making sure we have a great
summer holiday is really important. Fraudsters recognise this and play on people's desires," said Tony Neate, managing director of GetSafeOnline.org.
Bob Atkinson, a travel expert from travelsupermarket.com, recently claimed that
holidays to Spain and Greece offer good value for money this summer.
