Make travelling easier by planning things for the kids to do

Couples can make travelling a more enjoyable experience by planning ways in which to make sure their children are happy and occupied on the journey, says a parenting specialist.

Liat Hughes Joshi, a freelance writer and author of the books Raising Children: The Primary Years and What to Buy for Your Baby, stated that in the days of mobile technology using handheld games consoles, DVD players or other gadgets are good ways of keeping children happy.
However, she understands that many mums and dads do not want their kids to spend all their time staring at screensand suggested traditional games such as “I spy” and stories.

“Story CDs or tapes are great too, and particularly useful for travel sickness-prone kids who start to feel queasy if they look at a screen or book on the move,” she added.

But it isn’t just the journey you need to think about. Recently lifestyle magazine Female First said that finding a family friendly hotel should be top of your priorities.
