Three-quarters of Brits 'get post-holiday blues'

People who book cheap holidays to Greece or other destinations have such a lovely time away that they are likely to feel gloomy when they return.

According to a survey from TripAdvisor, over three-quarters (78 per cent) of Brits get the post-holiday blues, which is significantly higher than the European average of 69 per cent.

It is down from the 88 per cent of people who said they suffered from work stress after a holiday when the same survey was carried out in 2009.

Almost one in ten (seven per cent) have enjoyed their last minute holidays so much that they have called in sick to work on their return in a desperate bid to extend their relaxation period.

The poll also found three in four (74 per cent) of holidaymakers plan their next trip abroad as soon as they get home, while 23 per cent like to savour the taste of their holiday food by recreating meals back in the UK.
