Greek holiday market 'making a comeback'
Greece is set to prove a popular
holiday destination this year, according to Rhodes Tourism.
The promotional agency pointed out that Rhodes is "exceptionally positioned" to take advantage of growing interest in the country, particularly among Britons who want to "rediscover this all-time classic destination".
Tom Panagos, UK PR manager for the island's tourist board, said that while the good weather, food and beaches have "always been there", recent years have seen investment in local hotel facilities and luxury services.
He claimed that the destination is suitable for everyone from families on
all inclusive holidays to younger travellers on short breaks.
"Prices in Rhodes remain on similar levels to the 2010 season and our hotels offer exceptional added value," added Mr Panagos.
"From all inclusive family holidays to a relaxing week in the sun and even short indulgent breaks, there are some amazing deals out there so we encourage people to shop around and find the right one for them."
It was also revealed that international arrivals at the island's airport were 132 per cent higher in April 2011 than in the same month last year.
