Greek holiday hotspot ranked among top travel experiences
Wanderlust readers have named visiting the Greek
holiday island of Santorini as one of their top 100 travel experiences.
Announcing the results of its survey, the magazine described the destination as "pure Greek-isle fantasy".
People visiting the island during
package holidays and other breaks in Greece can see its white-washed buildings, explore winding alleyways leading to old harbours and stop off at tavernas serving locally caught seafood.
Wanderlust also recommended Santorini's wine, pointing out that the volcanic soil allows the vineyards to create some unique products.
Other activities in the magazine's list of the top 100 travel experiences include getting lost in Venice and exploring the city's labyrinth of canals and courtyards, and roaming the Outer Hebrides in Scotland.
The top ten is dominated by nature and wildlife, with cruising the Galapagos Islands, learning about lemurs in Madagascar and sitting on the summit of Mount Stromboli in Italy all featuring.
