Greece provides holidaymakers with beaches and classical sites

The Peloponnese peninsula in Greece offers families a number of sights to visit including some impressive beaches, it has been suggested.

An article in the Daily Mail highlights one family's enjoyable trip to the Mediterranean, which included stops in Greece.

A number of beaches could be enjoyed in a region called Messinia, where holidaymakers chose to play volleyball and paddle in the water.

However, it was the lengthy Zanga Beach where the family took the chance to really relax and enjoy all that the sea had to offer.

The article revealed: "Perhaps it was the heat - southern Greece can be scorching in midsummer - but rarely has the sea seemed so sublime as we frolicked in brilliantly clear water in the company of nimble little fish."

There was also the opportunity for the family to take in a number of classical sites, such as Nestor's Cave and the site of Mystras.

A recent study from Co-operative Travel found that holidaymakers considering a break to popular locations including Crete and Paphos could expect to pay less than was the case 12 months ago.
