Corfu holidays 'offer outdoor adventures'

Travellers planning to visit the island of Corfu during cheap holidays to Greece will have plenty of opportunities to embark on outdoor adventures.

Aggeliki Rouva of the Greek National Tourism Organisation pointed out that the destination boasts a varied natural environment that visitors can explore in a number of ways.

The availability of activities such as hiking and watersports means that Corfu offers much more than a traditional beach holiday experience, according to Ms Rouva.

She said: "Corfu is endowed with a diverse environment that allows for many sports and activities, from water sports to hiking and trekking in hidden paths in the olive groves, to bird watching in protected eco-systems.

"Corfu offers more than sun, sea and sand. It offers a complete experience that will not only satisfy all your senses but will lift them to a higher level."

The spokeswoman also recommended attractions such as the Museum of Asian Arts, the Achillion Palace and Corfu town, which is home to fortresses and other landmarks that feature on the Unesco World Heritage list.
