Orlando 'a family favourite' for last minute holidays

Heading to Orlando this year could be the perfect destination to take a last minute holiday, according to one provider.

The popularity of having a break in Florida is well known, with one-third of all trips from Virgin holidays being taken in the state.

With so many famous attractions for families to visit, like Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, it is unsurprising that 32 per cent of children travelling with the company last year went to Florida.

The firm suggests that as well as visiting the theme parks, area such as Kissimmee and Lake Buena Vista are also ideal spots to spend some time while holidaying in Florida.

Another institution which recently highlighted how great an option the sunshine state can be for a family holiday was ABTA – The Travel Association, which also pointed out the allure of the white beaches and warm seas that are on offer in the state.
