Red Sea port towns invest in yachting facilities

The luxury resorts have been investing heavily in tourism in the hope that they can attract yacht owners and those planning boating holidays.

Taba Heights Marina has space for up to 50 yachts and grants guests spectacular views of four different countries - Egypt, Jordan, Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Meanwhile, El Gouna has recently expanded Abu Tig Marina, which can now house super yachts, thanks to the extension that allows 106 additional vessels to be moored there.

The new El Gouna Yacht Club and the local power boating and sailing school might also be attractions for those looking to enjoy a summer holiday by the sea.

Egypt has long been a tourist favourite, with the hustle and bustle of Cairo, the culture and history of the Giza pyramids and the watersports fun of Sharm el Sheik just some of the other attractions that keep Brits booking cheap package holidays to the country.
