Holiday markets recovering in Egypt and Tunisia

People planning summer holidays in Egypt or Tunisia this year will be happy to hear that there are signs of tourism industry recovery in the countries following recent political instability.

The United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) welcomed the positive developments and pointed out that inbound travel is an important part of both countries' economies.

Major sites and attractions in Egypt and Tunisia are now open to the public, while airlines have resumed flights, the organisation revealed.

Governments have also been quick to update their travel advice to reflect the situations in the countries.

UNWTO secretary-general Taleb Rifai said: "As the situation has evolved over the past few weeks, I have been pleased to see that travel advisories have been kept accurate, confined to the affected areas and regularly updated.

"As the situation returns to normal, tourism - a highly resilient economic sector - will be among the first sectors to rebound and is therefore well-positioned to support the overall economic recovery."

People who choose Egypt as their summer holiday destination this year will have the chance to visit destinations such as Sharm el Sheikh, which is a famous scuba diving and snorkelling hotspot.ADNFCR-2580-ID-800431582-ADNFCR
