Escape to Egypt this winter
Brits hoping to escape the icy weather and jet off to warmer climes may wish to consider a break in sunny Egypt.
Writing for the Times, Julia Buckley noted that the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheikh basks in warm temperatures all year round and is home to one of the world's best diving environments.
"The package is pretty perfect: sun-sure, with cheap deals and no jet lag (it's only two hours ahead). All in all, antidotes to January blues don’t come much easier to swallow than this," she commented.
Ms Buckley added that holidaymakers will find a range of interesting attractions to explore during their stay, including Castle Zaman and Ra's Mohammed National Park, which is home to a salt lake featuring more than 1,000 species of fish.
Speaking recently, Alison Dando, marketing and membership manager at the British Sub-Aqua Club, claimed that Egypt is extremely popular with British diving enthusiasts due to its proximity to the UK.
