Egypt 'home to top dive sites'
Egypt is home to one of the world's top scuba diving hotspots, it has been claimed.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the Ras Mohammed National Park is a must-visit destination for water sports enthusiasts taking
holidays in the country.
"Covering the southern tip of the Sinai Peninsula, this national park is the final landfall before the underwater wonders of the Red Sea," the publication noted.
There are more than 20 dive sites to choose from, including the Yolands and Shark Reef, which are both teeming with marine life, as well as shipwrecks.
Speaking recently, Alison Dando, marketing and membership manager at the British Sub-Aqua Club, said Egypt is an extremely popular place for scuba diving enthusiasts due to its relative proximity to Britain.
She noted that divers can expect to encounter everything from sharks to turtles, as well as impressive coral reefs.
