Take a long-haul break 'for great value'

Brits can get excellent value for money by opting to take all-inclusive long-haul holidays this year, it has been claimed.

Frances Tuke, a spokesperson for ABTA – The Travel Association, said destinations such as the US can be a great option for UK families looking to head abroad in the near future.

"In a lot of markets we've seen sterling not performing very well over the last few years, but pretty much every destination is good for us because the quality [and] the price of living is cheaper," she explained.

Other hotspots that are pocket-friendly for British holidaymakers include Egypt, Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka and the Maldives, she added.

A recent poll carried out by travel provider Kuoni revealed that 40 per cent of people use holidays to talk about important matters, while 26 per cent of Brits said they have considered a career change while abroad.

Furthermore, 35 per cent of respondents said breaks overseas give them the opportunity to get rekindle romance with their partner.
