Holidaymakers offered travel tips


Deciding what to take on holiday to Greece or elsewhere can be difficult, especially if you're heading away for two weeks.

Writing for the Irish Independent, Leah Jordan and Conor Tobin said games are a must for long journeys. Parents looking to keep their kids occupied on a long flight are advised to pack a deck of cards and a Nintendo DS, which will guarantee they stay quiet throughout the flight.

When it comes to footwear, travellers should opt for comfortable shoes that can be worn all day when trekking around attractions. Crocs, Birkenstocks and Scholl sandals are all good options, they noted.

Other tips include loading your iPod with plenty of new songs, investing in some good books, a pair of sunglasses and a reliable camera.

According to research published earlier this week by Hotels.com, an increasing number of Brits will be holidaying in the eurozone this summer, due to the pound having gained strength against the euro.
