Tourism Australia urges holidaymakers to take it easy
People booking their
summer holidays in Australia should remember not to try and pack too many things into their itinerary.
That is the advice being offered by Rodney Harrex, general manager for the UK and Northern Europe at Tourism Australia.
Mr Harrex said: "There is something for everyone in Australia, but the key thing to remember about a trip to Australia is not to try to fit everything in during one visit."
He suggested that instead, people should aim to stay at two to three locations "and enjoy them at a leisurely pace", rather than rush around.
Tourists often visit Sydney, Ayers Rock and the Great Barrier Reef, he said, although Melbourne, Kangaroo island and Ningaloo Reef, which is situated in western Australia, are also increasing in popularity.
The New South Wales Government recently announced that it plans to build a new venue in place of the Sydney Entertainment Centre at Darling Harbour, which will be able to host concerts and sporting events.
