Long-haul hotspots revealed
The Maldives is the most popular destination for Brits booking all-inclusive long-haul
holidays, new research has revealed.
Other hotspots, according to figures from travel provider Kuoni, include Thailand, Sri Lanka, the United Arab Emirates and China.
Holidays in Egypt and US destinations such as Florida are also popular with UK travellers.
In addition, the study found that 40 per cent of Brits take breaks abroad in order to discuss important issues, with 74 per cent of respondents claiming
holidays can make or break relationships.
A further 27 per cent said trips overseas allow them to re-ignite their love lives.
Commenting on the findings, Frances Tuke, a spokesperson for ABTA – The Travel Association said the primary focus for most holidaymakers is relaxation.
She added that long-haul destinations often give people the space the need to properly clear their heads.
