Jamaica 'draws tourists back year after year'

The sun-soaked island of Jamaica is a destination that draws holidaymakers back year after year.

This is the opinion of Francesca Ecsery, global sales director of Cheapflights.co.uk, who said the country has a great deal to offer British holidaymakers.

"Jamaica has a much desired year-round temperature of 27 degrees C with warm, dry winters and hot, humid summers," she commented.

Ms Ecsery noted that the best time to visit the island is from mid-December through to mid-April.

"For the ultimate hideaway location, head to the secluded shores of Treasure Beach on the south of the island, an unbeatable location for whiling away some blissful uninterrupted hours of solitude," she added.

Jamaica's minister of tourism Edmund Bartlett is projecting a solid growth in visitor numbers for the coming year.

Preliminary figures show the number of holidaymakers arriving on the island rose by four per cent in 2009, compared to 2008.
