Holidaymakers 'may find Dubai bargains this year'
Brits hoping to book a bargain long-haul break this winter may wish to consider heading to Dubai.
Lonely Planet travel editor Tom Hall said that given the recent economic issues in the emirate travellers may find some cheap deals there.
"It's certainly already very attractive in terms of
flight prices to get there because Emirates are very keen that people should use it as a transit hub and go there as a short break destination," he noted.
Commenting on the recent opening of the Burj Dubai - the world's tallest building - Mr Hall said the emirate has always been considered outlandish and claimed it will help Dubai to stand out even more.
Research published earlier this week by travel review site simonseeks.com revealed that many people who took domestic breaks last year are planning to jet abroad and soak up some sunshine in 2010, with 56 per cent hoping to turn their backs on so-called staycations.
