Bali is a duel destination

Bali is a perfect destination for those wanting the dual benefits of relaxation and city life, says Mark Henshall, editor of Frommers.com.

He said that the region is idle for those looking for luxury holiday diversity as they to enjoy a chilled out beach break but can also take a day break in the hustle and bustle of Singapore or Hong Kong if it takes their fancy.

A recent poll conducted by ABTA found that 37 per cent of British travellers love to go on a beach holiday, whereas second on the list of preferences with 17 per cent was city breaks.

Mr Henshall believes Bali fits perfectly into both these categories.

He added: "Somewhere like Bali isn't just a tick in a box for some people, it really is something that is alive to them. Bali is quite compelling and it can also be quite transformative."

ABTA's survey also found that just 38 per cent of men prefer to travel with their family, compared to 45 per cent of women.
