See the King's Cup Regatta on a Majorca holiday

As well as taking in the island's sights and treating themselves to some relaxing days on the beach, people planning cheap holidays to Majorca this summer will be able to enjoy some sporting entertainment.

The King's Cup Regatta will take place in the waters off the coast of Palma de Majorca, the island's capital city, from July 31st to August 6th.

An important fixture on the sport's international calendar, the event is regarded as one of the major cruiser class sailing competitions held in the Mediterranean.

It was first held in 1982, when approximately 50 boats took part, and has grown steadily to incorporate more vessels year after year.

Travellers enjoying summer holidays in Majorca can head down to the seafront in Palma to see the impressive sight of sailing boats cruising at high speeds along the Mediterranean waters.

The island's capital city is also home to attractions including a spectacular Gothic cathedral near the coast and Bellver castle.ADNFCR-2580-ID-800604169-ADNFCR
