Royal Caribbean cruises to new port in Jamaica
People considering
cheap cruises for their next
holiday now have the option to visit Falmouth in Jamaica with Royal Caribbean.
The cruise line's Voyager of the Seas this week became the first ship to call at the historic port, which is located between the popular destinations of Ocho Rios and Montego Bay on the Caribbean island.
Falmouth will serve as a gateway to the north coast of Jamaica, where visitors can take part in experiences including zip-line rides through the rainforest canopy and bobsled rides down the side of a mountain.
Travellers can also visit a cove offering the chance to swim with dolphins or pay a visit to an 18th-century Jamaican plantation.
Craig Milan, senior vice president of land operations for Royal Caribbean Cruises, said: "By partnering with the Port Authority of Jamaica, we are working to deliver our shared vision of Falmouth's rebirth.
"Together, we are bringing the town's historic sites to life and integrating the culture and authenticity of this destination into a superior guest experience."
People enjoying
holidays onboard Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas will visit Falmouth on March 22nd this year, when the port will host its grand opening celebrations.
